The most exciting thing about graduating is being able to live on my own. I am excited to be responsible for myself and be able to do what I want. I am looking forward to playing college lacrosse, I have worked a lot to be able to play in college. Today we watched a ted talk and answered questions on the video.

Everything that I like to wear is not outside of a norm in my society. I have never worn an outfit that was noticeably different than what I normally wear. With this being said I've never gotten reactions. Today we watched a short film and answered questions based on it.

A film that comes to mind when I think about my culture would be Dazed and Confused. This movie is set in the south where my roots are from. The movie is about nothing but people getting by in high school, and they are living a southern lifestyle. Today we worked on our project.

The stereotypes in the short film were the Japanese kids telling the mixed Japanese kid that he has AIDS because of his skin color. This stereotype made this kid question him belonging with these kids, and led him to believe that he actually had AIDS. Stereotypes like these can harm cultures and individuals by giving people false ideas about the culture. The short film shows that seeing things online about a race can lead a group to believe false things about another group. Today we watched a short film and answered discussion questions about it.

A show that comes to mind is Dexter, based in Miami. This show is about a blood splatter analyst so there is a lot of murder in the show. With the show being in Miami it shows a lot of Hispanics and they are most of the time living in a run down apartment or involved in the murder. The show having the Hispanic people always in a bad spot can send negative thoughts to the audience about Miami. Today we talked about our project, and got in the groups we are working with.

Filmmakers still use stereotypes in order to cause emotion and drama. These stereotypes can make the audience think deeply. I do not think this justifies using stereotypes, this is just how the world works. Today we made up work.

The film I think of when I think of stereotypes would be "A Christmas Story." I think of this film because the family goes to a Chinese place in the movie for dinner and the characters portraying the Chinese people sing loudly as they bring out a duck for dinner. This strikes my mind as stereotyping Chinese people to only eat duck and sing while they eat. Today we watched films and read articles and then answered questions based on them.

My hair is normal white people wavy hair. It connects to my culture because it makes me look white. I've always been comfortable with my hair. Today we watched a video on hair and answered questions.

If I was able to go anywhere with no limitation for spring break I would go to an Australian beach. Spring break has to have a beach involved for me, and I have always wanted to go to Australia so this would be the perfect opportunity. I would bring all of my friends for a boys trip and we would explore and chill on the beach all week.

Seeing all the different types of food showed me that everyone has so many different swings of a base food. There were so many types of chicken in all the slides which shows we are all connected, but the differences shows how we are also different. Today everyone presented their powerpoint.

Food comes from all different types of places so knowing where the food is from that you ate growing up, tells you about where you are from. In the Mississippi delta video the Asian people eat southern food with their own cultural swing on it, which continues to show their family where they are from with the mixtures of food. Today we watched 2 videos and read a story about cultural identity in food.
